Meet The Team - Sian Ceaton the Company Director of Casado Design

Is there a typical day in your role?

My typical day involves requesting purchase orders, creating invoices, producing queries for perspective clients, delegating undistributed workloads, logging all site4 visits and jobs, finances, wages, VAT tracker, design work and telling Dan what to do.

How important do you feel the CAD industry is to society?

I am aware that there is other software depending on the type of work it requires, although CAD is still a very important tool within the telecoms industry. If we are producing work for residential or commercial buildings Revit is something I would like the company to get more involved with once again.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?

Maintaining the workload for all our staff, but I find that bringing in more variations is most rewarding. I want our company to be more of a design company dealing with all parts of design and not just telecoms.

What are some of the interesting/exciting things about your role in the CAD industry?

As above, I want our staff to train on other aspects of CAD, so we have a more well-rounded knowledge of building in 3D. We are in the process of networking with local companies to get our name known for work within the solar industry, leisure and holiday parks sand shop fitouts.

What do you like about the functionality of the team?

I like the fact that when we have deadlines to address, we all come together to meet that target with all the skills that we are equipped with.

What do you see in the future of CAD?

The future of CAD is changing all the time, the software is always changing year after year to better the productivity of the user. In our industry in the telecoms field CAD will be around for a while yet. I guess a good question to ask would be how do we see the future of the CAD technician? I think there will always be requirement of employment in this field for a while yet.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy yoga, going to the gym, playing the piano, singing in my choral society and at concerts.

Finally, what work are you most proud of?

I am proud of the whole company and how far we’ve come but I am also proud of the technical knowledge of our telecom staff, especially when producing detailed designs. I am particularly proud of the work we have produced in the commercial solar sector. I really want the company to develop into this further as I am extremely passionate in protecting the planet for future generations.
